Acer CMOS Reference
Acer provide good support for their products, and in most cases we have no trouble finding the files we need at their website. Acer provide complete working Binary files for all their machines.
Like most other makers Acer are turning towards SPI Serial flash EEPROM as a BIOS/CMOS part for new Laptops and PCs

Acer BIOS Updates
Some Acer BIOS updates can have two or more ROM files to choose from. Generally though I do not have any problems with Acer machines and can usually supply a replacement BIOS chip if needed.
The information from the label on the BIOS chip very often gives clues as to which bios is needed. It is always worth trying the recovery options with any acer machine.
Acer BIOS Crisis Recovery
Acer are one of the few makers that do provide the means to recover your CMOS if you happen to have a bad flash, at least for some of their machines.
If you research your model at the web site and download the bios for your machine you may well find everything you need to know in the read me files that accompany the BIOS updates.
All Acer recovery options should have been tried before sending your Acer desktop or laptop board to us for repair. Using the Soldered BIOS Repair service should be a last resort with any Acer machine
