Dell CMOS Reference

Dell along with other main stream makers are starting to use SPI Serial Flash parts on their new motherboards. Typically the BIOS chip or CMOS part on the majority of Dell machines is soldered in place on the motherboard and cannot easily be removed for servicing by design.

If you have a Dell machine with a removable CMOS part you may consider yourself very lucky.

We are able to help with some Dell machines. If you have your CMOS code backed up then we can certainly help you to restore your machine.

Consequently you should always back up the BIOS on these machines before you even attempt to run any update.

Dell BIOS ROM FIles

Providing a suitable ROM or BIN file is available for your Dell machine then I can provide you with a programmed replacement CMOS part.

The service we provide here relies entirely on the availability and integrity of the motherboard maker or OEM makers ROM or Binary files.

If the vital Binary files needed to program your chip are not available from Dell then I'm afraid we cannot help you if you haven't backed up your BIOS code.

If a suitable BIOS code isn't available for your machine then i suggest you take the issue up with Dell.
