Dell CMOS Reference
Dell along with other main stream makers are starting to use SPI Serial Flash parts on their new motherboards. Typically the BIOS chip or CMOS part on the majority of Dell machines is soldered in place on the motherboard and cannot easily be removed for servicing by design.
If you have a Dell machine with a removable CMOS part you may consider yourself very lucky.
